Every Death Is a New Boss A Complete Chronicle of the Ultimate Elden Ring Challenge Run
What if every time you died in Elden Ring, instead of respawning at the nearest Site of Grace like a normal player, you reincarnated as a completely different boss from the game’s massive roster of over two hundred enemies? The Rollercoaster of Boss Forms
The Black Knight was a promising start — solid armor, a decent weapon with good reach, and the Golden Vow incantation for emergency buffs when things got tough. I breezed through Margit using Crucible Wing spam that staggered him repeatedly, humiliated Godrick with a greatbow from across the arena, and somehow survived Radahn’s meteor phase with more health than I deserved. But luck like that never lasts in a challenge run. I hit the Tree Sentinel guarding the entrance to Leyndell, got stance-broken like an amateur, and suddenly found myself reborn as a Spirit Snail — quite possibly the most pathetic boss in the entire game. My new form could summon Crucible Knights, which sounded useful until Godfrey the First Elden Lord dismantled them in seconds while I watched helplessly from invisibility. The contrast between my former power and current uselessness was humiliating and hilarious in equal measure. From there, the RNG took me on a wild ride through the game’s entire boss roster. I became a Royal Revenant — which was a disaster because Godfrey is immune to every status effect except sleep, and revenant poison ticks did nothing. I became Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree, whose ranged magic and horse mobility let me kite Morgott into submission. I became a Runebear that couldn’t stance-break a basic soldier. I became the Black Knife Assassin, whose Destined Death projectile destroys every boss in the game except one specific enemy that I will not spoil here. Starting from the early game areas covered in the IGN Elden Ring Walkthrough, I fought my way through every major boss in entirely unexpected ways. Maliketh fell to a Black Knife. Godfrey was wrecked by Black Flame Tornado from the Godskin Apostle form. Radagon got parried repeatedly before being finished off by fireballs. Then came the Elden Beast — a fight that took over an hour because my current form simply could not close the distance.
